A Letter to The Person Who Inspired Me
Dear Mrs. Thambash,
I hope you are doing well, we haven't talked in a little over three years now since I graduated high school. I am sure your students are keeping you very busy in your Spanish class but hopefully you love them. I am writing this letter to thank you for helping me in ways you couldn't imagine. You impacted my life in a big way and I will forever be thankful for that and just for being yourself. Even when I didn't believe in myself, you always did and I am so grateful that you did. You always saw the potential I had in me when I was down on myself and couldn't see it at times. Thank you for always reminding me to follow my dreams and that anything is possible if I work hard and give it my all. You will never realize how much your words have meaning to me to this day.
I am so lucky I was put into your Spanish class in the tenth grade because you are the best teacher I have ever had. You supported me in anything I needed and never failed to tell me how smart and how much potential I had in me. When my grandmother had her stroke, I was able to confide in you in that horrible time and you told me you would be there for me if I needed it which meant the world to me. You made me realize I could do anything I put my mind to and I could accomplish my dreams when I didn't think I could do it. Even when I was only in your class for a study period junior year, you helped me with all my college stuff as I was trying to figure out where I wanted to go. I know you would be proud to know I ended up going to Plymouth State(in case you forgot). I didn't know how to do everything for college like my financial aid but you were there every step of the way and you never complained about helping me and asking an endless amount of questions. Every student that has stepped into your classroom is beyond lucky to have such an amazing and selfless teacher like you who sees the best in everyone.
Back in the tenth grade I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and at times didn't see myself going into college but you gave me the confidence I needed to take my life into my own hands. Years ago I was unfocused and had no motivation. You told me that I was able to accomplish my dreams of going to college and I was able to be a person who could see the end goal and didn't give up on what she wanted out of life. Now, I am more focused on my goals than ever, even after taking two years off and found myself lost I remember your words and was able to realize that I am smart and I am capable of doing anything I put my mind to. You have shown me that I have so much more potential than I realized and I will never forget that as I move forward in life. I wish to instill confidence in people who are feeling lost in their any situation like you did to me. I also hope to help people realize they are capable of anything they put their minds to. Thank you so much for your part into making me who I am today, I could never repay you for that.
Sincerely,
Caroline
Caroline,
ReplyDeleteExcellent letter. It's very well-written, but most of all its full of genuine gratitude. Every word is sincere and your flow holds keeps everything moving.
I like the details that you include. It's the little moments that really help to color in the background. I like the story about study hall and the advice of financial aid, and I especially like the moment when you were supported after your family member had a stroke. These are the most precious moments in these healthy/healing relationships. They may have been just a moment, but the impact and impression can last a lifetime.
Beautifully crafted. You wrote to a natural length instead of just writing the minimum. I also like the images you chose, including the inspirational quote to lead off the post. Please be sure to have at least 1 more image per post - to have at least three for visual design.
Great work. Please consider sending this letter. Your teacher would be touched, even after all these years.
