Grateful

At times, I forget how appreciative I am of the people around me and the material things I have. Many times I forget to really appreciate my family who are so supportive and loving, there are not many people who have a family or if they do, perhaps they don't have one that are as caring and understanding. Another thing I take for granted are simple things like having a home and having food on the table, everyday people become homeless and wonder where their next meal is coming from. Sometimes I forget that not everyone is fortunate enough to be have a home or to be able to eat three meals a day, I am trying to make it a goal every morning to think about what I am grateful for and not to take it for granted. My education is also something I often take for granted, thankfully I am able to go to college which many can't say the same about. Most in my family never had the opportunity to be able to attend college, many were not even able to graduate high school given their circumstances. I would like to make them proud by finishing my education and finding a career I am happy in.
What I am most grateful for is my family, even though at times I do take them for granted I will forever be so appreciative of them. My two older sisters have always been there for me no matter what, whether its help with school or advice about dealing with relationships. Even though at times we argue, we are so close and nothing could ever break our bond. My oldest sister has always been like a second mom to me, I always go to her house if I need a break and just want someone to talk to who will never be judgmental. I am also beyond thankful for my parents who are absolutely amazing. They have sacrificed so much to be able to give my brother, my sisters and I the opportunities they were not able to have. They never fail to be there if we need them of if we just need someone to be supportive. I am so thankful to have such an amazing, crazy and loving family. I know that whatever I am going through, they will always be right there by my side being supportive. My four nieces have shown me not to take everything so seriously and just to appreciate the little things in life. They are always so happy and I could not have asked for a better family.

Some of the things I could absorb and take in would definitely be spending time with my best friend. She is always there for me no matter what and I couldn't ask for a better friend to have. Every time we are together we always have such a good time together, whether its going shopping or going out to dinner. She is more like a sister to me and I am forever thankful to have a person like that in my life. I could also just take in more of just my every day life, sometimes I just wish the day would end but I realize I am still thankful to have everything that I do in my life. I could also absorb time with my nieces more than I currently do. My two youngest nieces are nine and two years old and are growing up way too quickly, I need to make it a point to see them more than I currently do.

  1. Caroline,

Excellent post. I really like your design. It's clean, organized, balanced, and professional. Great images and pics.

This is well written and sincere. Clearly, family is very important to you but I also like the little things that you mention/take for granted. It's good to be aware of these little things and be grateful for them from time to time. It's an easy way to smile and feel supported.

    Great work. Very well written.
