Grateful for My Job

Right now, I work at a daycare run by my best friend's mom. The kids who go to the daycare range in age from newborn to five years old. I work there three days a week while I go to school the other two days of the week. Working there has been such a big joy in life, even though I have only had one job before this one, this is a job I truly enjoy. Every day the kids shows me something new every day, I am forever grateful for these kids and this job.

The kids at the daycare make my day brighter even if I am having a horrible day. The kids can make anyone smile, they are the sweetest and funniest kids I have ever met. They are very outgoing and rambunctious, they are always doing something they shouldn't be or climbing on something they know they can't. Their favorite games to play with me are hide and seek(even though they hide in plain view), ring around the rosie, and pretending to be chefs. They are always so loud; yelling or crying all the time for absolutely no reason. I wouldn't have it any other way though.

The kids at the daycare have taught me so much, I will forever be grateful for reminding me what is important. They have showed me to be in the moment and enjoy the people around you and what is happening at that specific time. As adults, we often take things for granted but kids care about the little things in life. They show me how to be silly and act like a little kid and make me forget about the stresses of being an adult. They show me not to take everything in life so seriously and just to take it day by day. Children have so much to give and teach others, I will forever be grateful for these kids in my life.

  1. Caroline,

Nice post. It is well-written and well designed. I like the images that you chose to emphasize your post's theme and vibe.

Sounds like this is an enriching experience as you plug away at school. Most people do not have the patience to work with so many kids, but it seems like you have the unique fit for it. Sounds like these kids are grateful to have you too.

This is a great side gig. I hope that you continue to be happy there and that it affords you the proper time to focus on school.

    Great post.
