What is My Life's Mission?
An organization I would be passionate about helping would be an animal shelter. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for helping animals in need. It breaks my heart seeing animals that have been abandoned, surrendered or those who are just strays; I wish I could help them all. In the future, I would love to open up my own animal shelter dedicated to providing a temporary home to those in need and also providing general veterinary services to the public which would allow individuals to bring their dogs for low or no cost services if they can not afford it. I believe every animal should have the proper vaccinations and other services regardless if their owners could afford it or not. I would love to be able to help as many animals as possible regardless of their circumstances.
I believe my mission in life is to help as many individuals and animals as I possibly can in my lifetime. It is so rewarding to help others in need, there is nothing I cherish more. In the future, I plan to open up an animal shelter if possible and would also like to open up a homeless shelter for those who are not able to have a stable home. I would like the homeless shelter to be mainly for women and children who are homeless due to abuse in their previous home. I believe these non-profits would help so many and it could help change their lives for the better. I would like to provide a temporary home to women in children while they are able to get back on their feet and find a job or a home to better their futures. The animal shelter would be dedicated to helping animals find their forever homes and helping them in any way if needed such as adjusting to their new home by being trained. I know I was put on this earth to help others and I will do whatever possible to make that happen.
My idea of success is being happy with your life at the end of the day. Many measure their success by how much money they have made or the material items they bought but personally I believe success in life is just being truly happy. I believe you can achieve happiness by being yourself, helping others and just trying to be overall the best person you possibly can. In my life, what brings me happiness is helping others, whether that's volunteering at an animal shelter or simply buying a homeless man food to survive through the day. My family is another aspect that brings me a lot of happiness, we are very close and I know I could count on them for whatever situation is happening. Another aspect that brings me a lot of happiness is experiences, I personally love going to concerts, I would much rather be given a concert ticket instead of a material item. Materials will keep you happy for only a short time but experiences will stay with you for the rest of your life and it will always be something you reflect back onto. I believe happiness is partly due to how you view life, if you have a positive outlook on every day then it is more likely you will be a happy person. I like to start off my day by listing in my head at least five things that I am grateful for in that specific day and in general, it helps me start off my day with a positive outtake.
Caroline,
ReplyDeleteThis is a very well-articulated post - filling your legacy with both big picture stuff and smaller details. I like your intrest in providing SHELTER - a requirement for life - to animals or vulnerable humans. This is very noble and honorable.
I also like how you focused on simple happiness in your final paragraph. Experiences do last and shape. You are spot on with this perspective and I'm sure you will continue to strive towards your goals and personal legend well beyond your education.
Keep moving forward and helping out. Your efforts will make great impacts on many.
